Vermont will be host to ten exciting events this year, across all three programs. Volunteers are also needed for each of these events. If you wish to volunteer, check out our Volunteers page and reach out to our Tournament Directors via our Early-Bird Registration form. They will provide you with instructions on how to register!

What is FIRST?

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is teams of kids building sophisticated robots for exciting cooper-tition!

FIRST was founded in 1992, by inventor Dean Kamen and MiT professor Woodie Flowers.

FIRST Students learn:

  • STEM skills: programming, mechanical design, and electronics - inspiring STEM career interests!

  • Team skills: teamwork, communication, project management, finance, and school pride!

  • Life skills: inclusion, self confidence, ethics, and “gracious professionalism”!

FIRST is for every age!
